About this Property

This property really does have it all. It is warm, inviting, full of charm and in a superb location at the end of a track close to a very popular village with restaurant, in the proximity of golf des Vigiers and wine chateaux and is yet only a 20-minute drive to Bergerac.

The property consists of the main house which has been tastefully updated with large French doors in the lounge to drink in the superb view and a well-equipped light filled kitchen; both rooms benefiting from underfloor heating. The cosy dining room with original stone sink and fireplace is perfect for hosting and there is a downstairs bedroom, shower room, lobby that would serve well as a study and a laundry room to complete the downstairs accommodation. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms one of which with a contemporary en-suite shower room with double basins. The generous covered terrace is a room in itself, perfect for relaxing in the quiet setting.

The independent guest house has a large open plan kitchen/diner/lounge, two bedrooms, a shower room and a separate terrace.

In addition there is a light filled artist atelier and three small barns of perfect proportions over two levels as well as a heated salt water swimming pool.

It is not everyday that a property such as this, in a location such as this is available, it is a beauty !

Aquitaine

If you want variety, Aquitaine is possibly the place for you. The largest administrative region in France, covering pretty much the whole of the south west corner. It has Atlantic coastal towns and seemingly endless pine forests to the west, the stunning backdrop of the Pyrénées in the south, vineyards (both wine and cognac) in the centre and north, lush pastures and agricultural landscapes in the north east and the most stunning architecture, valleys and villages from the centre towards the east.

Testimonials

    Testimonial by Andrew Cotton

Having decided to go ahead with our plan to buy an investment property in France, we initially tracked the market across a number of websites and across a wide area covering the Dordogne and the Lot regions. It quickly became clear that the responses we received from the Beaux Villages team were the most helpful and, based on some discussions about what we were looking for, we were able to put an initial viewing trip together. Based on this viewing trip, we narrowed the geographic area of our search and Beaux Villages became the leading agent we spoke to, including arranging some visits to see properties that were not exclusively listed with them, which made the viewing trips easy to arrange and manage. After a second viewing trip, we found our dream property, albeit at a price which was a little over our budget. At this point, the Beaux Villages team helped us navigate the process of understanding what the different stages of the offer and purchasing process would be, what the fees for each aspect would be and allowed us to put together an offer which was rejected initially, but some months later secured us a property we are really pleased, and sometimes a little amazed, to now own. Without the input of Judith Whitlow [, and her husband Kevin,] we would have not had the confidence to navigate the process successfully. Their input, from the initial offer all the way through to the couple of weeks after our purchase went through (when dealing with some of the issues which arise when buying a property abroad), was clear, pragmatic and incredibly helpful. Based on their experience having lived in France for some time and the clarification they could therefore offer on issues which were sometimes difficult to understand and assess, we felt very comfortable making decisions about what is a very significant investment for us. I warmly recommend Judith to anyone considering purchasing a property in France – without them, we would have had a much more difficult time getting to completion.
